As Thailand propels towards its ambitious net-zero goals, Gunkul recognizes the transformative potential of renewable energy. With a focus on wind energy in Thailand, the company embraced the challenge of harnessing this resource despite the country's low to moderate wind speeds, owing to its geographical proximity to the equator.
Through rigorous on-site research and exploration of numerous potential locations across Thailand in accordance with the renewable energy and alternative energy development plans contained in the PDP 2018 Rev. 1 which sets a target of promoting the production of 1,500 megawatts of new wind energy, we persevered in our mission to uncover the full potential of renewable energy. Our wind farms stand as a testament to our dedication to providing sustainable energy to government entities and supporting Thailand's transition to a greener, more environmentally conscious power infrastructure. Simultaneously, our diversification strategy ensures the long-term security and stability of the company.
